A Message from the Principal
Dear Foothill Community,
Welcome back, Foothill Eagles! We are thrilled to begin another exciting year at Foothill Elementary!
There is something special about starting a new school year in our mountain community. As our campus comes to life, our teachers and staff are preparing classrooms, planning engaging lessons, and creating spaces where every child feels welcomed, valued, and ready to learn. At Foothill, we know that education is about more than what happens inside a classroom. It is about relationships, belonging, curiosity, perseverance, and the strong community we build together.
Foothill is committed to growing students in mind, body, and character. Throughout the school year, we will nurture academic growth, personal well-being, and character development through opportunities that help our Eagles learn, grow, connect, and SOAR. Through the character strengths of the Positivity Project and the clear expectations of CHAMPS, we will support students in becoming confident, responsible, and compassionate members of our Foothill community. We are so fortunate to be part of a community where people know one another, care about one another, and show up for one another. Foothill is more than a school—it is a mountain community, a family, and a place where every child has the opportunity to discover how high they can soar.
We cannot wait to hear the laughter on our playgrounds, see the excitement in our classrooms, and watch our Eagles take on new challenges with courage and confidence. The mountains surrounding us remind us that great things take perseverance, teamwork, and a willingness to keep climbing.
This is our mountain. This is our school. This is our Foothill family.
Together, we will climb higher, learn more, care deeply, and SOAR farther than we ever imagined.
Welcome back, Foothill Eagles. Your mountain is waiting. Let’s SOAR!
With excitement and gratitude,
Jamie Swisegood, Ed.D.
